Fera Science Ltd is a leading applied science organisation operating across food, health and the environment. Working with government bodies, industry partners and global clients, Fera delivers scientific evidence, testing and advisory services that support public good, sustainable systems and international trade.
I worked on the design and development of Fera’s 2025 Annual Impact Report — a comprehensive publication communicating the organisation’s scientific, environmental and commercial impact over the year.
My role focused on shaping the visual identity, layout system and overall narrative structure of the report. This included typography, grid systems, data visualisation, image direction and the translation of complex scientific content into a clear, engaging and accessible format across both digital and print outputs.
The report was built around three core themes — public good, sustainable systems and global trade — providing a clear framework to organise a wide range of content across the organisation.
A key focus was creating a narrative that could move between high-level strategic messaging and detailed scientific case studies without losing clarity or momentum. This involved defining consistent content patterns, pacing long-form sections, and introducing visual breaks through pull quotes, data highlights and feature spreads.
Close collaboration with internal stakeholders was essential to refine messaging, simplify technical language and ensure accuracy while maintaining a strong editorial flow throughout.
